When I found out I was going to be a mother, one of the questions I started asking myself most often was: “What should I dress my baby in?”. A baby’s first clothes are something special – they’re the first thing to touch their little one’s delicate skin, and every mother wants them to be the very best.
🚫 Fabrics to avoid
At first, I also made the mistake of browsing all kinds of cute baby outfits, but many turned out to be made from synthetics – polyester, acrylic, or fabrics that look soft but don’t actually “breathe.” They can cause overheating, trap moisture, and irritate sensitive baby skin. ❌
🌿 Why natural fabrics are the better choice
I soon realized that the most important thing is for clothes to be made from natural fabrics. They let the skin breathe, regulate temperature, and are much gentler. Cotton is common and a good choice, but for me, merino turned out to be even more special – because it combines softness, warmth, and breathability all in one.
💛 My personal choice for Krisi
When Krisi was born, I wanted to give him the very best. I chose clothes made from merino wool because I knew they would keep him at an optimal temperature – warm on cold nights, but without overheating when it’s warmer. I also love that merino is hypoallergenic and doesn’t cause irritation. That way, I could relax, knowing his skin was protected and comfortable.
I believe a baby’s first clothes are more than just garments – they’re their first gentle hug beyond Mom and Dad. So choose carefully, look for natural fabrics, and think about your baby’s comfort. For me, merino turned out to be the best choice, and that’s how the idea for MeriBoo was born – to give every baby clothes that make them feel loved and protected.
